Get started with Raspberry Pi and build a multimedia player! In this introductory course, you learn how to use the popular Raspberry Pi platform. We show you how to set up your Pi with a keyboard and screen, then introduce you to the operating system and software. We also teach you how to turn your Pi into a multimedia player that can play music, watch movies and photos.
This two-part course was taught by Luis Costa and Tim Pozar. The course is now over, but you are welcome to use this student guide to learn on your own.
The cost for our Fall 2017 course was $180 for two evening sessions of 3 hours each. All materials are included: students take their Raspberry Pi kit home after the class ends (a $55 value).
No experience necessary. Maximum class size is 10 students. Students ages 13 to 18 can enroll if a parent also enrolls — or with instructor’s prior approval.
After completing this class, you can extend your skills and build your own projects by signing up for the Maker Club workshops.
We have no immediate plans to teach another Raspberry Pi class at Tam Makers, but check our Classes page for other interesting courses.
We hope to see you soon!
