Wednesdays 6-9pm Aug. 28 – Oct. 9
This woodworking class is for beginning, intermediate, and advanced woodworkers. Beginning woodworkers will complete two projects: a cutting board and a mitered hardwood box. They will learn the safe operation of hand and power woodworking tools. Upon completion of the course and tests, they will earn intermediate level badges for specific equipment. Intermediate and advanced woodworkers will receive guidance from the instructor as needed. They may use equipment for which they have obtained competency badges. Those badges will be earned through assessments administered in class during the first weeks of instruction. Intermediate and advanced students will provide their own designs and materials subject to instructor approval. Material costs for beginning woodworkers’ projects will range from $20-$40. A list of materials will be provided at the first class.
Students age 14-17 may enroll in this if their parent/guardian first submits this form to Heather Peitz at COM Community Education. They will also need instructor approval. Just email us to let us know so we can forward our approval to COM.
